ProntoXero November17 release

Applicable to version 2.92 and newer

Release Notes

The newest ProntoXero release brings the exciting Salesforce Lightning Interface!

Lightning

The 2 previous Settings pages have been combined into 1 New Settings page in the Lightning ProntoXero App.

However the updated Look and Feel is not the only new feature in PXero2.0.

Security

Once a Salesforce Xero Invoice is synced to Xero, it is no longer editable in Salesforce as Xero is the Master record, and Salesforce is the ‘shadow’ copy. This means that further updates to the Invoice, such as changing the status, needs to be done in Xero. This is because usually the Sales team create the Invoice from Salesforce, and push it to the Finance team who work primarily from within Xero.

There is now also a button to sync an Account to Xero, and if there is an existing Contact in Xero with the same name, instead of overriding the existing contact’s details, it will flag in Salesforce the potential duplicate named accounts, by appending the Salesforce Account ID to the end of the name in both Xero and Salesforce.

This will prevent loss of data if Xero overrides an existing account.

Credit Notes

ProntoXero now includes the syncing of Credit Notes from Xero and displaying the amount of Remaining Credit on a Related List under the related Account.

Item Codes

In accordance with Best Practice, Item Codes are now matched in Salesforce. To do this, existing Item Codes from Xero are synced to Salesforce and created as Products with the price in the “Standard Pricebook”

Convert Opportunities to Xero Invoices

There is now a Button on the Opportunity to Convert a Closed Won Opportunity to a Xero Invoice in Salesforce. Your matched Products will also be brought across as Item Codes, and product that haven’t been matched will be added as lines without item codes.

If you deal with hundreds of Opportunities and do not want to individually convert, you can batch convert all your Closed Won Opportunities to Xero Invoices in Salesforce with a default Account Code, specified in the new Settings page. This mass conversion is also triggered by a button in the Settings.

Individual Sync of Xero Invoices

There is an addition of a Button on the Xero Invoice to sync it immediately to Xero, rather than waiting for the scheduled batch job that runs at the specified interval in Settings.

UX Improvements

Further User Experience enhancements include the addition of the URL link to the Invoice in Xero on the Xero Invoice page in Salesforce, and the addition of Error Logs as a Related List on the Xero Invoice so you can see why an Invoice hasn’t successfully synced to Xero.
